Alternatives

The growing demand for energy from around the world and the reality of dwindling reserves of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas has added a dimension of urgency to the search for alternative sources of energy. While nuclear energy is fraught with several risks, solar energy appears to be gaining ground as a source of clean energy. Bio-fuels for automotive vehicles and energy generation from waste be it bio-mass energy from farm waste or land-fill gas, all contribute to making this a greener plant. Imitating nature, even osmosis can be used to produce osmotic energy in power plants using salt solutions of different concentrations.
