What is synthetic grass?

Synthetic grass or artificial turfis made from man-made materials and acts as a substitute for natural grass. The basic element, a polymer like nylon, polypropylene or polyethylene is melted at a high temperature and mixed with pigments. After adding UV stabilizers it is shaped into grass like ribbons. Next, they are tufted and attached into a fabric using adhesives along with foam padding. Sand or rubber granules are used as infilling to keep the ribbons upright, resembling natural grass.
