Carbon dioxide is the number one among green house gases that power the ticking time bomb of cataclysmic climate change. In the US alone, 2 billion metric tons of CO2 is released by power plants and another 2 billion by cars. And this is not going to be any less in the future. Current practices of sequestering CO2 in liquid form are fraught with high risks.
What is SkyMine®?
SkyMine® is a new technology developed and owned by
Skyonic Corporation that can not only capture and sequester CO2 in a risk free manner but also convert it into saleable byproducts like baking soda and hydrogen and chlorine gases.
How does it work?
The SkyMine® converts the CO2 into baking Soda in three simple steps:

Instead of letting out CO2 into the environment along with other hot flue gases, power plants now direct the flue gas into a SkyMine® where the heat is used as energy to separate the flue into acid rain gases like SO2 and NO2 and stored separately in chambers.

In step 2 the pure CO2 is directed into chambers where it is exposed to salt and water which react with the CO2 to form sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), hydrogen and chlorine, which are stored separately while the baking soda is stored in an absorption chamber from where it can be shipped off to the market.

(Carbon dioxide + water + salt > sodium bicarbonate + hydrogen gas + chlorine gas)

In step 3, the remaining harmless flue gases are redirected to the power plant to be released into the atmosphere.
