What is LED Lighting?

LED stands for light emitting diode. LED lighting uses diodes that are tiny, semiconductor components, which produce light due to the movement of electrons across certain regions called p-n junctions in the diode. Individual diodes are tiny, measuring about ΒΌ inch in diameter and need around 1/10th watt of power to operate. During usage, a number of diodes may be grouped to provide adequate light.
