Rigid Panel Insulation

Why use rigid panel insulation:

Rigid panels are used for insulation. These panels are usually made of fiberglass, rock, and slag wool or plastic foam and are an alternative to foam-based insulation. Some of the most commonly used rigid panels are made from plastic foam. They come in pre-cut sizes that fit into a standard size wall cavity. These panels come in varying thicknesses. One common dimension is a 5 ½ inches panel which fits perfectly into a 2X6 square inches wall cavity. Rigid panels are safe, non-toxic, and lightweight and therefore, easy to handle.
