How do forced-air systems operate?

Several buildings have forced air systems, for heating and cooling purposes. A typical system comprises of a network of ducts through rooms and vents for air to be circulated within the building. The air in a room is sucked into the system, heated or cooled as per requirements using an air handler, and then returned back into the room using a blower.
