Energy Savings in Retail and the HVAC System

HVAC in retail:

Retail outlets consume a considerable amount of energy resources. The major part of energy consumption is used in lighting the shop floor; though maintaining favorable climate conditions within the shop also consumes a lot of energy. The proper maintenance of the HVAC system of the retail store will ensure that the store is conducting operations in an energy efficient manner.

In order to optimize the usage of the HVAC system a thorough understanding of the occupancy patterns of the building is required. Heating and cooling by the system needs to be minimized in areas that are not always occupied or have very low traffic.
