Ways to reduce your heating bills

The cold season brings in not only the chill but also increases the cost of keeping our houses warm thus making a dent in the family budget. In addition, most heating systems contribute to the irreparable damage to the environment by releasing harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It is therefore important that we find ways to cut costs and reduce our heating bills and still stay warm in winter.

  • Extra layers of clothes worn will help keep one warm in winter. Investing in good quality thermals would be a good investment and would help cut electricity costs in the long run.
  • Keeping your curtains and blinds open during the day would help stream sunlight in and heat up the rooms. Shutting windows and blinds just before the sun sets would prevent heat from escaping.
