Desiccant Cooling Technology

What purpose do desiccants serve?

Temperature is not the only factor that affects the comfort levels of occupants in a house. The relative humidity of the atmosphere also influences air conditioning and heating requirements. House inhabitants often feel much hotter in summer due to the increased humidity of the air compared to the same temperature in winter with lesser relative humidity. In addition, dehumidified air cools faster and requires less energy for cooling as compared to air with moisture in it. Desiccants perform the task of removing moisture from the air, before it is cooled by the air conditioning system.
